Mahatma Gandhi
Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2nd, 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat, India. At the age of 14 he married Kasturbai Makhanji, it was arranged by the parents and due to this he lost a years-worth of school. Later on when Gandhi was 18 years old, he went to England to study law, after this he went to the British colony of South Africa where he experienced laws the apartheid that was taking place there.
Gandhi lived by the quote in his life with two specific examples from the film we watched. These examples are Gandhi's first speech where he was in South Africa, the speech was on the unfair treatment to the workers on the railway. Gandhi was nervous during the speech due to it being his very first, however that did not stop him from trying to put out a message of the unfair laws, this resulted in Gandhi being hit multiple time by an officer, he then showed love by not fighting back and taking the beating from the officer while he still tried to burn cards.
Another example that is similar to this and expands on the idea of Gandhi following the quote on the love aspect where he again defended himself and others but without hurting the cavalry that was charging at them, the cavalry came since Gandhi gathered all of the labor workers and asked them to march with him for change.
The quote that Gandhi lived by contained that 'truth' will prevail over murders (etc.) was at the end of his march for salt where he tells the crowd that the salt on the sea is for everyone and that Britain's extreme taxing on the salt should not be. His fellow marchers took a handful of salt back home with them.
"A man is but the product of his thoughts what he thinks, he becomes."
